Summary
A short video about the Spirit of Tasmania, trekking the Bass Strait, it is one of the largest employers of women seafarers in Australia. The aim of the union representative interviewed, is to make sure that the workers are properly trained for their positions, making sure that communication between the workers and management is always clear and precise. A well trained and well informed workforce, benefits the employer as well. Sometimes there can be very little awareness about the union, and it’s only when they become frustrated with their dealings with employers that they discover the need for union help.
